Muhammad Ali is the champion in the boxing world. A showcase of his life and achievements are on display at the Museum of Islamic Art, Doha until 25th Feb 2017. He died in June 2016, at the age of 74. Other than his achievement as a world class athlete winning the light heavyweight Olympic Games in 1960 and world heavyweight champion in 1964, 1974 and 1978 he is also known as a social activist and his stance against war. He refused to serve the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. I was too small to remember his fights. All I have is a memory for my great-grandmother looking forward to watch his games. In 1998, he was honored as the UN Man of Peace award. I didn’t capture the exhibits of his letter to the US government about his stand against the war.
Cassius Clay was his name before he converted to Islam at the age of 22. Here are some of his famous quotes and pictures of his boxing gloves in memory of his achievements! Check out the comic cover of Superman VS Muhammad Ali.
