10 gym bag essentials for all hijabis

Let’s face it ladies, active hijabis have special requirements when it comes to packing to go to the gym. Because we sweat more after working out, just changing into a fresh set of clothes and giving yourself a wipe down with some wet wipes will not be enough. We usually need to take time to shower properly, or at least wash our hair. Hence, we usually bring more stuff to the gym. But how much is enough?

Below are 10 items that I must have inside my gym bag and I have to admit, I can’t live without any of them!

  1. Hairdryer – Never wear hijab with a damp hair. Damp hair breeds bacteria and fungus, will lead to unpleasant odor, dandruff, and weak hair in the long run
  2. Shampoo – The very least is to wash your scalps to get rid of the sweat
  3. Small towel – I always bring at least 2 towels. Big towel is to dry my body, and a small towel to dry my hair. I find that my hair will dry faster this way.
  4. Hijab essentials (hijab, undercap, pins, accessories, hair ties, etc) – Use a small container for loose items such as pins and accessories
  5. Treatment oil – my personal favorite is as argan oil or coconut oil
  6. A set of clean clothes – this includes underwear, tops, bottoms, hijab, etc
  7. Water bottle
  8. Breakfast – if you’re heading out immediately after working out, prepare your snack before you leave
  9. Ladies stuff – sanitary pad, panty liner, etc
  10. Treat your self! – include in a nice bath gel or a luxurious lotion to reward yourself after working out. My personal favorite is a sugar scrub.

Hijabis, I hope this list will be helpful for you to pack before hitting the gym. Remember to pack the night before heading to the gym to make sure you have everything you need. Less stress, more sweat!

Reduce Sun Exposure in Raazniq

You can enjoy outdoorsy lifestyle – being out in the sun by the beach, forest and skiing, but don’t forget to take precautions to care for your skin. Overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation can cause damage to skin – sunburn and skin cancer.

Other tips on using clothing to prevent skin damage due to sun exposure:

  • dark color clothing provides protection against UV
  • light color clothing provides protection against infra
  • Wet clothing has lesser UV protection as to compared to dry

Note – Do not cover your nose if you are running long distance or when performing long hour or intensity workout. Make sure you can breathe well both through your nose and mouth at all times.

Nashata Modest Swim Wear In Action

Hello there ladies,

My name is Nura, I am a physical education and swimming teacher. It is a little hard for me to find the perfect swim wear but Nashata’s swim wear has helped me do my job with less hassle.

I work with kids and my work is very sensitive, I have to be vigilant at all times and I have to be prepared for anything that might happen in the swimming pool. My swim wear needs to be light but covering. It also needs to be heavy duty but not something that will be uncomfortable. This swim wear have given me everything I need. I have not had issues with feeling that something is dragging me in the water.

I owned this swim wear for about a year and it is still holding up well. I am in the swimming pool at least 3 days a week with my students.

I really like the concept of having a body suit under the top, it feels nice. It can be problematic at times. If I have more than one swimming lesson in a row then bathroom trips can be a problem (it is not easy to change with the body suite under). Other than that, I am happy with my modest swim wear from Nashata 😀
