Hooda Sports Hijab – A Design Innovation for Fit Hijabists

Hooda Sports Hijab was born to solve a few problems I personally faced while performing fitness activities. I wanted a hijab that does not flip when the wind blows or when I jump. Later when I started yoga, I realized how needful the hijab would be for certain poses that require inversion and backwards-bends

Even though you hardly hear others complaining about flipping hijab, 2 years ago, I believed this was a problem that needs solving. Solving this problem was not only for myself. This is because I wanted modest ladies and hijabists to perform fitness activities without boundaries. I wanted my sisters to be able to focus on their workout and not worry about their hijab flipping and not secured.

We put a lot of thoughts into our designs so that they suit modest active women. Thanks to design innovation, hard work, and perseverance Hooda Sports Hijab was conceptualized late last year and we made a few prototypes and tested its feasibility. Alhamdulillah, with the power of collaboration, determination and Allah’s grace, the Hooda Sports Hijab made its first debut on Facebook 28th February and was made available at nashata.com on February 29.

Little did we expect the Hooda Sports Hijab would go viral immediately with more than 2,400 shares. It was sold out within a day.

We advice use of a top made of lightweight material in the inside. We will come out with more colors, more innovative designs to give you practicality, comfort while performing sporting activities, less weight, good coverage and ease of mind! We are already making more designs in extension to the Hooda Sports Hijab. The design is currently in the process of Intellectual Property(IP) protection filing.

Spring Collection 2015 : Live in Colors & Choices with Nashata

To give you more confidence working out longer and further, our new collection is about vibrancy & improvements. Both Riada and Ultra range get an uplift of more choices, more colors. With #exerciseinmodesty and #modish as the theme, lets go through what we have in the store for you!

1. Jazri Riada

Previous Riada collection was to cater for pear, spoon and diamond body shapes. At that point, we put a lot of attention to cover areas below waist level. The new Jazri Riada in the Spring collection is for apple, inverted triangle, hourglass, rectangle and straight body shapes. So if you don’t like it loose below waist area, and wider on the top, Jazri would be the choice for you.

There are 3 colors in Jazri Riada; turquoise, dark purple and red.

Jazri is a round-neck sports top, with a simple design. There are cuffs on Jazri sleeves and a few cut-and-sew design on the back, making it look simple, yet exclusive. Made of 4-way highly stretchable fabric, Jazri is very comfortable and lightweight.

3. Magenta & Purple Tron Ultra

Nahl was well received in its first debut last November. The bumble bee and green Nahl were the initial colors. Now, we have Ruby and coming soon blue to complete the 4 main colors of sporting teams. However, for the latter, we offer our customers inverted colors with darker / black color inside. This gives more sporty look and improved slimming effect for plus sizes.

Active Bumblebees at SCORE RUN 2014

Yellow and Black were the common colors at the SCORE RUN. It looked like thousands of bumblebees were at the Padang Merbok Sunday 8 June 2014. There were only two categories at the fist SCORE Run; 10 km and 15 km. The run, participated by about 3,600 runners was organised by Mantra.

The first flag-off was at 630am for the 15 km run. Five out of seven Nashata runners joined the 15 km runner slightly late. We later discovered the starting point was further up hill where the bigger Race Arch was. Many others missed the early bumble bee runners as they were waiting around the other race arch area.

By 610 am onwards, the crowd for the 10km run started to build up. There were a few 15 km late runners who got their way through the 10 km crowd and dashed off. Patricia Tan flagged the 10km runners off a couple of mins before 7am and so all the 3,600 runners ran their way through the cool and hilly route along Jalan Parlimen and Bukit Tunku area.

Many of us enjoyed the route as it was a cool and safe, and the roads were nice. Water stations were well managed and paramedics were seen along the way. In fact, a lady fell while running and the paramedics were close-by to give immediate help. Thumbs up for that. We love the happy cameramen from Amateur Sports Team known as RFF. They took awesome moment of happy runners!

The last landmark before the run ended was the Tugu Negara, a few hundred meters before runners grab finisher medals.
All in all, it was a great run.

There are few items would be nice to have:

The RFID tag attached to the bib is not utilized. (at least for us)

We love efforts to safe the planet and love to see more use of recyclable cups at water stations. There were a mix of plastic and paper cups used at water station.
